How sustainable is the dish sponge?
The dish sponge is handmade in Berlin, which saves unnecessary transport routes. The dish sponge is made of 100% organic cotton, making it washable and reusable. With proper care, you will never need to throw it away. Furthermore, cotton is completely biodegradable. And when washing dishes, no microplastics will end up in your sink or drain.
How do I use the zero waste dish sponge correctly?
The dish sponge can be used just like conventional sponges. It is best to always ensure it can dry well. You can wash the dish sponge at up to 60 °C, but please do not put it in the tumble dryer.
Use in 3 steps:
- Dampen your dish sponge slightly.
- Rub the dish sponge in circular motions over your solid soap.
- Lather your dishes.
What are the properties of cotton?
Cotton is an absolute all-rounder! It is not only sustainable, but can also absorb more than twice its own weight in water. The waffle structure of the dish sponge also increases the surface area and thus its capacity.
