"You are no longer where you were, but you are everywhere we are." - A bereavement quote by Victor Hugo that expresses a look forward alongside the grief. The joy of having known a loved one and the certainty that their spirit will continue to accompany us.
As with all of our greeting cards, a bouquet of flowers is included.
- The attached crescent moon is made of handmade seed paper. After detaching, cover lightly with soil, water, and enjoy the growing wildflowers.
- The crescent moon is also printed on the card. The design is therefore preserved.
- The folded card measures 10.5 x 14.8 cm (DIN A6) and is made from 283g/m² kraft cardboard.
- The envelope is C6 format, i.e., 11.4 x 16.2 cm.
- The envelope and card together weigh about 15 grams. Shipping currently costs €0.70, or sometimes €0.85 per card for the dark envelopes (as of 04/2016).

The right gift for a sad occasion
It is the worst thing one can imagine. A loved one passes away. Be it after a long illness, slowly and gradually, or quite suddenly and unexpectedly. One finds no words for the pain and suffering. To express one's sympathy to the bereaved, just choosing the right greeting card is a challenge. It should be simple, not too oppressive, not too cheesy, and above all, comforting. The card should express your own grief as well as your sympathy for the recipient's grief.
The special sympathy card
We thought about it for a long time and designed and produced this sympathy card with a lot of love and patience. With the comforting quote on the front of the greeting card, it is intended to be a reminder that the loved one is not entirely gone through death, but still lives on in the thoughts of friends, family, and acquaintances, and that the spirit continues to exist. A warming thought when one feels lonely and alone. The flowers are meant to be planted and grow as a sign that life goes on and that there will be blossoming moments and brighter times again. Hopefully, optimism and good thoughts for the future can be stirred at least a little in those grieving. We have therefore sewn the coat for the appropriate gift by airmail or the right token to take to the funeral service. Now it is your turn to sign the card with a personal greeting.
How do you write a sympathy card?
It is often difficult to find the right words for a sympathy card, to put your thoughts and feelings on paper. Formulating a text that expresses how much you miss a loved one while simultaneously trying to offer comfort to the bereaved is almost impossible. We think that Victor Hugo managed to combine grief and optimism quite well with his words.
Can we give you tips for the inside of the card? Not really. There are many sites that try to do that, such as here, here, or here. There are also many collections of bereavement quotes, for example here or here. Such guides and standard phrases can help to write a text or at least find a starting point. However, a sympathy card should come from the heart, and unfortunately, there is no instruction manual for that. There is only you, your feelings, and the pen.
Expressing your own thoughts
If you need more space for your own poem, your own thoughts, or your very personal bereavement quote, we have designed an alternative, second card for you. The "In Silent Remembrance" greeting card also features a simple design. It is a bit quieter, comes with little to no fuss, and quietly expresses sympathy and compassion for the bereaved. Due to the very simple text on the front, the greeting card gives you a little more room for your own literary ideas and sayings for this sad occasion. Here, too, the rule applies: There is nothing wrong to say, as long as it comes from the heart!
