But today he says no. He doesn't enjoy playing the fool. He would much rather tell stories – for children and poets! Theodor and other animals follow him to realize their dream of having their own circus, where no one is forced to perform a trick.
This story was where it all began: Brigitte and Dimitrije Sidjanski (Mischa Damjan) founded NordSüd Verlag in 1961 and released the story of Petronius the clown as their first book. It has been illustrated three times so far: by Gian Casty (1961), Jozef Wilkon (1986), and Christa Unzner (2001).
For the 60th anniversary of NordSüd Verlag, Torben Kuhlmann, known and loved for his mouse adventures, provides new illustrations for the story.
As old as this children's book is, it is equally timeless.
