The Blossom Tea offers the connoisseur an extraordinary experience: inside the sphere is an artistically integrated exotic blossom. However, the sphere only reveals its secret when it is placed in a vessel of boiling hot water. It begins to open slowly and, at the end of the infusion display, brings forth the embedded blossom, which rises from it in a rich variety of forms and colors.
Almost everything about this tea is handmade. It is reserved for only a few so-called "master binders" to bind the dried leaves of the White Tea into a spherical shape, as the knowledge of this rare art is strictly guarded. Thus, the Blossom Tea remains a precious rarity of China.
White Tea
The Blossom Tea consists exclusively of the White Tea "Yin Zhen," also known as "Silver Needle." The name is derived from the silvery, silk-like shimmering hairs on its leaf tips. Because of its velvety, soft, and very mild taste, as well as its unmistakable light aromas, this White Tea is considered one of the finest tea varieties in the world.
Only the unopened, particularly aromatic buds of the "Big White Tea Bush" that grows in China are used. This tea is hand-picked and produced with the utmost care. As a result, it retains a relatively high content of polyphenols. Like black and green tea, the mild-tasting White Tea contains tea caffeine.
Preparation
Step 1: Boil water and pour immediately into a glass carafe. Please note: Unlike green tea preparation, the use of boiling hot water is necessary here to ensure the optimal opening of the Blossom Tea spheres.
